Why An Endowment Fund?

An endowment fund is an important next step in securing the future of Saginaw Valley Regional 4C. An endowment fund will reduce our dependence on government grants and help us get other grants that require matching funds. It will help the agency weather difficult times and meet unusual needs. It will help assure that 4C will be here, helping families and child care providers, long after all of us are gone.

The Saginaw Valley Regional 4C Board has decided to take advantage of an extraordinary opportunity to start an endowment fund. The Saginaw Community Foundation has invited us to apply for The Partnership to Create Community Capital project. If we are accepted, the Partnership will give us assistance in fundraising plus we will receive matching funds to help start an endowment fund. When we reach our endowment fun goal of $100,000, every three dollars you have contributed will be matched by one dollar from the Foundation.

Your Donation is Worth So Much

Thanks to support from our community, and because of the great need for quality child care, the Saginaw Community Foundation has accepted Saginaw Valley Regional 4C into their Partnership to Create Community Capital. Through this Partnership we will create an endowment fund that will give us flexibility to:

  • apply for grants that require matching funds,
  • weather difficult times and meet unusual needs,
  • reduce our dependence on government grants.

Saginaw Valley Regional 4C has set an endowment goal of raising $1000,000 by January 2, 2005. Your donation is so important because once we reach this goal, the Foundation will match it with an additional 33% making your contribution worth even more! And your contribution will last a lifetime - the lifetime of children who will benefit from the quality child care we can help them receive.

Contributions to the Saginaw Valley Regional 4C Endowment Fund are an investment in safe, high quality child care services that:

  • promote the optimum development of each child, and
  • help parents work without the distraction of child care worries.
